A Seasonal Cleanup Calendar for Georgia Homeowners
What to clear out in each Georgia season, from spring storm debris to post-holiday overflow.
May 4, 2026
Georgia gives you four distinct cleanup seasons, and each one produces its own type of junk. Working with the calendar means you never face a whole-house project at once.
Spring: storm debris and yard reset
March and April storms bring down limbs and fence sections. Clear them before pollen turns everything into a yellow crust and before summer growth hides the pile.
Summer: garage and outdoor gear
Grills, pools and playsets show their age in June. If the hot tub has not been filled in two seasons, this is the year it goes, those units get heavier and more brittle every summer they sit.
Fall: attic, basement, pre-holiday
Cooler attics mean this is the safe window for the hottest space in the house. Do it before you drag holiday bins down and add another layer.
Winter: post-holiday overflow
New furniture and electronics arrive in December, which means the old ones need to go in January. It is also when downsizing decisions get made after family visits.
January: old TVs and electronics to certified e-waste recycling.
January: replaced furniture donated while it is still clean.
February: packaging, boxes and the pile in the guest room.
