Moving in Metro Atlanta? Haul Junk on These Three Days
Timing your junk removal around a closing date so movers are not billing you to carry trash.

Movers charge by weight or hour. Every broken lamp and dead treadmill they carry is money you spent relocating something you will throw out in the new house anyway.
Day one: three weeks out
Clear the storage spaces, attic, basement, garage, shed. These hold the highest percentage of pure junk and the lowest percentage of anything you will miss.
Day two: the week before
Furniture decisions. Measure the new place first. That sectional that fit the Marietta bonus room may not clear the stairs at the new address, and finding out on moving day is expensive.
Day three: the day after you are out
There is always a last round: curtain rods, cleaning supplies, the fridge you decided to leave, the pile in the corner labeled 'deal with later'. Book a haul for the morning after the move so the property is empty for the walkthrough or closing.
